Masseto Winery, located in Castagneto Carducci, Italy, is renowned for its single-vineyard Super Tuscan wine, predominantly 100% Merlot. Established on a former clay quarry, the 6.6-hectare vineyard is celebrated for its aromatic complexity and tannic structure. The winery, designed as a 'sacred place,' features a gravity-flow process and a special wine vault, the Masseto Caveau. Owned by the Frescobaldis since 2005 and consulted by Michel Rolland, Masseto produces about 35,000 bottles annually, including a second wine, Massetino, from 2017.
