ABV: 13.5%
Bottle Size: 750ml
Blend: 60–65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33–38% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
Region: Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, France
Viticulture: In conversion to organic farming. 55 year old vines planted on deep gravel dominates the plateau and southern slopes, while Merlot is concentrated on eastern clay-limestone soils. The vineyard includes clay, marl and limestone beneath its gravel terraces and is managed parcel by parcel.
Winemaking: The grapes and wine are moved entirely by gravity without pumping. Parcels are vinified separately in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel vats with gentle extraction. Aged for around 14 months in 50% new lightly toasted barrels.
Château Cos d’Estournel, a "Deuxième Grand Cru Classé" since 1855, stands on Bordeaux's left bank. Its 67-hectare vineyard on a pebbly hill in Saint-Estèphe reflects its unique terroir. The estate's distinct architecture, inspired by the founder's travels to India, features pagodas and exotic motifs, symbolizing its rich heritage and innovative spirit.
