Region: Meursault Premier Cru, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Viticulture: Certified organic and farmed biodynamically. Hand-harvested Chardonnay from two east-facing parcels totalling 0.3 hectares, planted in the 1960s and 1980s. 

Winemaking: Whole-bunch pressing followed by indigenous-yeast fermentation. Aged for around 16 months in French oak barrels, with up to 20% new oak.

Domaine des Comtes Lafon is one of the great names of Meursault and a benchmark for white Burgundy. Long associated with the Lafon family and today led by Dominique Lafon, the domaine works some of the village’s most celebrated premiers crus, including Les Perrières, Les Genevrières and Les Charmes, alongside important holdings in Volnay and Monthélie.

The wines are known for their depth, texture and ageing capacity, but also for the precision that has come to define the modern domaine. At their best, they capture Meursault’s natural generosity without losing tension: layered, mineral and quietly powerful, with a sense of balance that has made Comtes Lafon one of Burgundy’s most admired estates.
