Domaine Bernard-Bonin has become one of the most closely watched domaines in Meursault, admired for white Burgundy of rare precision and intensity. Run by Véronique Bonin and Nicolas Bernard since 1998, the estate works a small collection of parcels in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, with a particular focus on old vines, careful farming and biodynamic principles.

The wines are unmistakably Meursault in origin, but they avoid the heavier, more overtly buttery side sometimes associated with the village. Instead, Bernard-Bonin favours tension, length and mineral definition. The best cuvées combine ripe citrus, stone fruit and subtle reduction with a firm, saline line that gives the wines their energy and ageing potential.

Part of the domaine’s appeal lies in this balance between concentration and clarity. The wines have density, but also lift; richness, but also restraint. In recent years, Bernard-Bonin has moved from a respected insider’s name to one of the most sought-after producers in the Côte de Beaune, especially among drinkers looking for Meursault that feels precise, alive and deeply connected to its vineyards.
