Viticulture: Biodynamic farming, with certification underway. A 1.4-hectare blend of six parcels in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet. Most vineyard work is carried out manually to limit soil compaction. Hand harvested.
Winemaking: Grapes are either lightly crushed or directly pressed depending on ripeness. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 16 months in 228-, 300- and 500-litre French oak barrels, around 10% new.
Domaine Benoît Moreau, founded in 2020 by Benoît Moreau in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy, covers 4 hectares, focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Benoît employs biodynamic practices and minimal intervention techniques to express terroir vividly. His first vintage under his own label has been praised for its vitality and complexity.
