Cédric Bouchard’s Roses de Jeanne is one of the most individual voices in contemporary Champagne. Based in the Côte des Bar, in the village of Celles-sur-Ource, Bouchard has built his reputation on a deliberately narrow and exacting idea: one vineyard, one grape variety, one vintage, bottled without dosage. This is Champagne treated less as a blended house style than as a set of precise, vineyard-specific expressions.
The result is Champagne of unusual purity and still-wine character: vinous, detailed and finely textured, with the bubbles acting more as a frame than as the main event. Roses de Jeanne has become a reference point for those who look to Champagne not for grandeur or polish, but for individuality, precision and a strong sense of place.
