Viticulture: Certified organic since 2014. The 19.5-hectare vineyard is planted to 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vines average around 50 years and grow on clay-limestone and clay-sand soils at the foot of the Saint-Émilion slope.
Winemaking: Fermented in wooden vats for around 30–35 days, with extraction through pneumatic punch-downs. Aged on the lees for 15–16 months in French oak and vats, generally with 40–60% new barrels depending on the vintage. Bottled without fining.
Château La Gaffelière, a Premier Grand Cru Classé estate in Saint-Émilion, has been owned by the Malet-Roquefort family since the 1400s. Spanning 32 hectares, with 22 hectares dedicated to 1st Grand Cru Classé, the vineyard grows 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Renowned for its rich history dating back to Gallo-Roman times, the estate produces wines known for their depth, complexity, and aging potential.
