Region: Alsace Grand Cru Sommerberg, Alsace, France

Viticulture: Traditional farming. Riesling from the 1.2-hectare Dudenstein parcel on the steep Sommerberg hillside. Vines planted mainly in 1946 and 1953 on granite mixed with limestone and sandstone. Hand harvested.

Winemaking: Whole bunches are pressed and cold settled before spontaneous fermentation. Aged for around 10–12 months on the fine lees in very old Alsatian foudres. No new oak and no fining.


Established in 1673, Domaine Albert Boxler in Alsace, France, is renowned for its Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. Centered around Niedermorschwihr, the domaine specializes in microparcel vinification from the grand cru Sommerberg, creating structured, long-lived wines.
