Domaine Benoît Moreau is one of the newer names to watch in Chassagne-Montrachet, though it comes from a very established family background. After many years working at Domaine Bernard Moreau alongside his brother, Benoît began producing wines under his own name from the 2020 vintage, using parcels from the family holdings in Chassagne.
The wines have quickly attracted attention for their precision, freshness and intensity. Chardonnay is the main focus, with a style that keeps the natural breadth of Chassagne but avoids heaviness: citrus, stone fruit, subtle reduction and a firm mineral line. There is substance, but also lift and clarity, making Benoît Moreau one of the more compelling new domaines in white Burgundy.
