Viticulture: Sustainably farmed 0.35-hectare parcel planted in 1939, high on the slope over shallow limestone and rocky soils. Hand harvested.
Winemaking: Whole bunches are gently pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, around 10–30% new. Aged for 12–18 months in barrel with limited lees stirring. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Domaine Alex Moreau, based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy, has vineyards across 5.7 hectares in notable appellations like Chassagne- and Puligny-Montrachet. Alex Moreau, known for his work at Domaine Bernard Moreau, launched his own label in 2021. He employs sustainable viticulture, organic practices, and minimal intervention in the cellar to capture terroir. Using native yeasts, long pressings, and lees aging, he crafts expressive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, including village, Premier, and Grand Cru wines. His wines, known for depth and balance, reflect Burgundy’s elegance and offer significant aging potential.
