Jérôme Bretaudeau founded Domaine de Bellevue in 2001 in Gétigné, in the Pays Nantais. He works biodynamically with Melon de Bourgogne, alongside rare regional plantings such as Chardonnay, Savagnin, Folle Blanche, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Gris, and Pinot Noir. Reds at Domaine de Bellevue reveal a rarely seen side of the Pays Nantais. Working with Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, he crafts wines of freshness, lift, and delicate structure rather than weight. They are known for their bright fruit, fine tannins, and mineral tension – made in a low-intervention style that brings clarity, energy, and unexpected depth to Loire reds.
