Cédric Bouchard’s Roses de Jeanne is one of the most individual voices in contemporary Champagne. Based in the Côte des Bar, in the village of Celles-sur-Ource, Bouchard has built his reputation on a deliberately narrow and exacting idea: one vineyard, one grape variety, one vintage, bottled without dosage. This is Champagne treated less as a blended house style than as a set of precise, vineyard-specific expressions.
The wines are made in tiny quantities and often from single parcels such as Les Ursules, Val Vilaine, La Bolorée or Presle. Pinot Noir plays a central role, though Bouchard also works with Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, always with the same focus on clarity, low yields and quiet intensity. The result is Champagne of unusual purity and still-wine character: vinous, detailed and finely textured, with the bubbles acting more as a frame than as the main event.
Roses de Jeanne has become a reference point for those who look to Champagne not for grandeur or polish, but for individuality, precision and a strong sense of place.
