Region: Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
Viticulture: HVE Level 3 and ISO 14001-certified environmental farming. The 11.8-hectare vineyard is divided into 16 parcels and planted to 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Grey clay dominates the northeastern section, while sandy gravel lies toward the southwest. Vines average around 35 years, with the oldest parcel planted in 1958. Hand harvested in small crates.
Winemaking: Five-day cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled concrete vats. Maceration lasts around four weeks, with a small proportion fermented directly in barrel. Aged for 14–18 months in French oak, generally with 50–70% new barrels and occasional amphora use depending on the vintage.
Château La Conseillante, located in Pomerol, Bordeaux, has been owned by the Nicolas family since 1871. The estate produces elegant, complex wines made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Its 12 hectares of vineyards, with clay and gravel soils, give the wines finesse and longevity. The purple capsule and "N" on the label symbolize the château's rich history.
