Viticulture: Organic and biodynamic farming. Hand-harvested Chardonnay from a 0.45-hectare parcel adjoining the Premier Cru vineyards, with careful sorting at the winery.
Winemaking: Gentle whole-bunch pressing followed by indigenous-yeast fermentation in barrel. Full malolactic fermentation and 18–22 months of élevage in French oak, predominantly used barrels.
Domaine des Comtes Lafon is one of the great names of Meursault and a benchmark for white Burgundy. Long associated with the Lafon family and today led by Dominique Lafon, the domaine works some of the village’s most celebrated premiers crus, including Les Perrières, Les Genevrières and Les Charmes, alongside important holdings in Volnay and Monthélie.
The wines are known for their depth, texture and ageing capacity, but also for the precision that has come to define the modern domaine. At their best, they capture Meursault’s natural generosity without losing tension: layered, mineral and quietly powerful, with a sense of balance that has made Comtes Lafon one of Burgundy’s most admired estates.
