Viticulture: Organic farming without synthetic treatments. Produced from the younger vines of the 5.2-hectare Clos des Corvées monopole, averaging around 50 years old. Hand harvested.
Winemaking: Whole cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts and no added sulphites. Aged in French oak and bottled without filtration.
Domaine Prieuré Roch is one of Burgundy’s more distinctive modern estates, founded in 1988 by Henry-Frédéric Roch. Closely linked by family history to Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Roch nevertheless created a domaine with a voice very much its own: independent, unconventional and rooted in a strong belief in traditional, organic and biodynamic viticulture.
Based around important parcels in Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and beyond, the wines are known for their fragrant fruit, whole-cluster character and often unpolished vitality. They can feel less classical than many Côte de Nuits wines, but that is part of their appeal: vivid, savoury and deeply personal, with a sense of freedom that made Prieuré Roch one of the most recognisable domaines of its generation.
