Weingut Fromm
Winemaker Profile | Grisons, Switzerland
Fromm Winery is located in the village of Malans in the canton of Grisons, Switzerland. It is currently run by Georg Fromm, who leads the family estate with extensive experience and dedication. The winery’s origins go back to the 1970s, when the Fromm family began focusing seriously on viticulture. Today, the estate is considered one of the leading producers in the Bündner Herrschaft region.
Fromm is best known for its Pinot Noir, regarded as one of the finest in Switzerland. In addition to Pinot Noir, the winery cultivates Chardonnay, Riesling, and Completer – the latter being a rare, indigenous variety from Graubünden. The vines grow on poor, limestone-rich soils in one of the country’s most distinctive wine regions, resulting in precise and elegant wines.

Fromm’s philosophy is based on a deep respect for nature and terroir. The vineyards are farmed organically and with as little intervention as possible, aiming to express the unique character of each vintage and site. In the cellar, minimal handling allows the wines to develop authentically, reflecting both their origin and the winemaker’s approach.
