Viticulture: Organic farming. A 0.3-hectare south-facing parcel at around 420 metres, planted mainly in 1999 on sandy marl with fossilised seashells. Hand harvested.

Winemaking: Destemming varies by vintage. Spontaneous fermentation in open-top Austrian oak vats with gentle cap management and 30–50 days of maceration. Aged for 24 months in large Austrian oak and three months in concrete..

Azienda Agricola Lalù is a young estate in the Langhe, created by Lara and Luisa, two friends from Turin who came to wine through study, travel and hands-on work rather than family inheritance. Based in Serralunga d’Alba, they have quickly become associated with a fresh, precise and thoughtful reading of Piedmont.

Their work centres on Nebbiolo, with wines that favour clarity, finesse and vineyard character over force. There is a style to the wines: floral, energetic and finely structured, with the seriousness of the Langhe but without unnecessary weight. Lalù feels very much like a domaine of its generation small, focused and personal, yet already marked by a strong sense of place.
