Bottle Size: 750ml
Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
Region: Pauillac, Bordeaux, France
Viticulture: HVE Level 3-certified sustainable farming. The 105-hectare vineyard lies on deep, free-draining Garonne gravel south and southwest of Pauillac. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyard is divided into around 200 sub-parcels and managed according to soil, exposure, vine condition and maturity. Hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard.
Winemaking: Destemmed and sorted again at the cellar before gravity-fed transfer to small, temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Sub-parcels are vinified separately, with gentle pump-overs and extraction adapted to each lot. Aged for around 18 months in French oak, generally with 60–75% new barrels depending on the vintage.
Château Lynch-Bages, a renowned Fifth Growth estate in Pauillac, Bordeaux, dates back to the 16th century. Managed by the Irish Lynch family in the 18th century, it was taken over by Jean-Charles Cazes in the 1930s, marking a significant quality shift. The 100-hectare vineyard, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, produces wines known for power, concentration, and aging potential. The estate also produces a distinctive white Bordeaux wine, Blanc de Lynch-Bages.
