Region: Pomerol, Bordeaux, France

Viticulture: Precision parcel-by-parcel farming. The 12-hectare vineyard is planted to 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc on clay and gravel soils across the Pomerol plateau. Around 80% has been restructured at a density of 9,000 vines per hectare. Each vine is individually recorded, and harvesting is carried out in several passes according to ripeness.

Winemaking: Cold pre-fermentation maceration for five to seven days. Integral micro-vinification in small temperature-controlled French oak barrels, allowing individual subplots to be fermented separately. Aged for around 18 months in 100% new French oak, including approximately three months on the post-malolactic lees.

Das Château Le Gay, das in Pomerol liegt, hat eine Geschichte, die mindestens bis ins Jahr 1845 zurückreicht. Früher von den Schwestern Thérèse und Marie Robin geführt, erlebte das Anwesen unter der Leitung von Catherine Péré-Vergé ab 2001 bedeutende Qualitätsverbesserungen. Heute wird es von Henri Parent geleitet. Der 10,5 Hektar große Weinberg, hauptsächlich mit Merlot bepflanzt, produziert konzentrierte, tief aromatische Weine, die für ihren reichen Pomerol-Charakter bekannt sind.
