ABV: 12.5%

Bottle Size: 750ml

Blend: Chardonnay

Region: Avize, Cramant and Oger Grand Cru, Côte des Blancs, Champagne, France

Viticulture: Soil-focused farming adapted to each parcel. Hand-harvested Chardonnay from predominantly upper-slope vineyards in Avize, Cramant and Oger, often on gradients exceeding 15%. Shallow clay-rich soils over chalk bedrock.

Winemaking: Indigenous-yeast fermentation in 228-, 400- and 600-litre oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is neither encouraged nor blocked. Aged for one year in oak, followed by six to seven years on the lees in bottle. Disgorged as Extra Brut with 0–1.3g/l dosage.

Champagne Jacques Selosse is one of the estates that changed the language of grower Champagne. Based in Avize, in the Côte des Blancs, it was transformed by Anselme Selosse from a family domaine into one of the region’s most influential names, with a Burgundian way of thinking about vineyard, maturity and place.

Selosse can be rich, savoury and intensely textured, yet the best bottles keep a strong mineral drive beneath the depth. It remains one of Champagne’s cult domaines: original, sometimes challenging, but enormously important for the way it helped move the region toward a deeper conversation about terroir.
