Vega Sicilia is Spain’s most celebrated wine estate, based in Ribera del Duero and founded in 1864. Its reputation rests above all on Único, a wine that has helped define the seriousness and ageing potential of Spanish red wine. Built mainly around Tempranillo, with the historic influence of Bordeaux varieties, the wines combine Castilian depth with a long, patient approach to élevage and release.

Vega Sicilia is not simply powerful; its best wines have a distinctive sense of restraint, polish and longevity. Dark fruit, spice, cedar and savoury complexity develop slowly, often over decades, giving the wines a character that feels both Spanish and unusually classical. Alongside Único and Valbuena, the estate remains a benchmark for Ribera del Duero and one of the few Spanish names spoken of in the same breath as the great historic estates of Europe.
