Laurent Gotti
Laurent Gotti is a renowned French wine journalist, author, and cartographer who has been deeply engaged with the terroirs of Burgundy for over two decades. His career began in 1997, reporting on the famous wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune—an event that sparked his lasting interest in the world of wine. In 2000, he settled in Burgundy, working as a journalist and later as deputy editor-in-chief for the magazine Bourgogne Aujourd’hui.
Gotti is best known for his detailed maps and in-depth analyses of Burgundy’s vineyards, especially the 33 Grands Crus. His book Les Grands Crus de Bourgogne, published in the Collection Pierre Poupon, presents a comprehensive atlas of these prestigious vineyard sites. The work combines precise cartography with geological insight and includes contributions from vintners and geologists such as Françoise Vannier.
In addition to his writing, Gotti teaches viticultural geography and wine tasting at the INSEEC School of Wine & Spirits. He has also participated in winemaking to gain hands-on experience, viewing these activities as a way to deepen his understanding and share his passion with friends and family.
