Sepia Art & Cartographie

Sepia Art & Cartographie is a French company based in Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy, specializing in the creation of high-quality wine region maps. It was founded in the early 1980s by Jacques Michot, a photographer and photogravure artist who combined his passion for art and wine with technical expertise.

The company is particularly well known for its detailed maps of the famous wine regions Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. These maps, known as the Atlas of the Great Vineyards of Burgundy, were developed in collaboration with experts such as Sylvain Pitiot and Pierre Poupon. They offer precise representations of the climats—specific vineyard plots—and classify them by quality levels such as Grand Cru, Premier Cru, and Village.

The maps are distinguished by their artistic design and technical accuracy. Printed on high-quality, silk-matte paper in a 150 × 58 cm format, they serve both as informative tools for wine enthusiasts and as decorative works of art.
