ABV: 12.5%

Taille de la bouteille: 750 ml

Blend: 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Meunier.

Region: Champagne Premier Cru, Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France

Viticulture: Hand-harvested fruit from Écueil, Sacy and Villers-aux-Nœuds. Vines average around 54 years, planted mainly on sandy soils with smaller proportions of clay and chalk. Winter ploughing, natural ground cover and homemade organic preparations are used to support soil life.

Winemaking: Ripe fruit pressed in a traditional basket press. Gravity-fed must undergoes spontaneous fermentation and around ten months of élevage in oak barrels, without racking. Aged for around 24 months on the lees in bottle. Hand disgorged as Brut Nature with 0g/l dosage and no sulphur added at bottling.

Gaspard Brochet is part of a new generation giving fresh energy to the Montagne de Reims. Based in Écueil, he took over part of his family’s domaine in 2017 and has quickly become known for Champagnes that are small in production but full of character. Working across parcels in Écueil, Villers-aux-Nœuds and Sacy, he focuses largely on single-vineyard and single-vintage expressions, with all three Champagne varieties playing a role.

The wines are vinous, textured and expressive, often showing ripe fruit, smoky components and a clear sense of place rather than a polished house style. There is a natural confidence to the work: precise, personal and slightly untamed, with the feeling of a grower still close to the vineyards and willing to let each parcel speak in its own voice.
