ABV: 12%

Taille de la bouteille: 750 ml

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir

Region: Champagne Premier Cru, Petite Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France

Viticulture: Biodynamic farming. Hand-harvested Pinot Noir from Premier Cru vineyards in Écueil and Sacy. Predominantly sandy soils. The grapes are picked at full maturity.

Winemaking: Very slow pressing with light separation of the first and final juices. Natural settling followed by gravity-fed spontaneous fermentation in 15-year-old, 228-litre oak barrels. Gentle bâtonnage early in élevage. Aged without topping up or racking, with natural malolactic fermentation. Around 24 months on the lees in bottle. Unfined and unfiltered. Extra Brut dosage of 1g/l.

Gaspard Brochet is part of a new generation giving fresh energy to the Montagne de Reims. Based in Écueil, he took over part of his family’s domaine in 2017 and has quickly become known for Champagnes that are small in production but full of character. Working across parcels in Écueil, Villers-aux-Nœuds and Sacy, he focuses largely on single-vineyard and single-vintage expressions, with all three Champagne varieties playing a role.

The wines are vinous, textured and expressive, often showing ripe fruit, smoky components and a clear sense of place rather than a polished house style. There is a natural confidence to the work: precise, personal and slightly untamed, with the feeling of a grower still close to the vineyards and willing to let each parcel speak in its own voice.
