Region: Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France

Viticulture: Integrated farming, certified HVE and ISO 14001. The 22-hectare vineyard forms a contiguous south-facing estate between the Ausone and Pavie hills. Planted to 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, with vines averaging around 35 years. Limestone plateau, clay-limestone slopes and more siliceous soils at the foot of the hillside. Hand harvested into small crates.

Winemaking: Grapes are chilled before optical sorting and vinified parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Pump-overs and punch-downs are used for extraction, with cold pre-fermentation and warm post-fermentation maceration. Malolactic fermentation takes place in vats and barrels. Aged for 14–16 months in French oak, generally with 50–60% new barrels. A small proportion of whole bunches may be retained depending on the vintage.

Le Château La Gaffelière, un domaine Premier Grand Cru Classé à Saint-Émilion, est détenu par la famille Malet-Roquefort depuis les années 1400. S'étendant sur 32 hectares, dont 22 hectares sont dédiés au 1er Grand Cru Classé, le vignoble cultive 75% de Merlot et 25% de Cabernet Franc. Réputé pour son riche passé remontant à l'époque gallo-romaine, le domaine produit des vins réputés pour leur profondeur, leur complexité et leur potentiel de vieillissement.
