Région: Aargau, Suisse

Viticulture: Conventional farming. Hand-harvested Pinot Noir from the south-facing Sonnhalde vineyard in Villnachern. Vines average more than 40 years old on deep, clay-rich Jurassic limestone soils. Yields restricted to around 400–600 grams per square metre. 

Winemaking: Aged for 24 months in French barriques made from Tronçais oak. The Pinot Noir sees a high proportion of new oak, generally around 75%.
