Pierre-Oliver Garcia
Winemaker Profile | Burgundy, France
Pierre-Olivier Garcia is a talented winemaker from Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy, France. In 2016, he founded the Domaine Moron-Garcia winery together with his childhood friend Mathieu Moron. Their goal was to produce wines that combine purity and aromatic finesse, challenging the traditional image of Nuits-Saint-Georges wines.
In 2020, Pierre-Olivier Garcia took sole ownership of the winery, which has since operated under his name. He places great emphasis on biodiversity and experiments with practices such as grain cultivation, plowing, tree planting, and using chickens to graze the land. These efforts aim to reintroduce bees and butterflies to his vineyards.
His estate spans approximately 5.5 hectares and primarily cultivates Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Aligoté. Pierre-Olivier Garcia is renowned for his innovative "Baie-par-Baie" technique, where one-third of the grapes are meticulously hand-separated, berry by berry, from the stems. This labor-intensive method aims to enhance the wines' aromas and complexity. His wines are distinguished by their finesse and expressive character, reflecting the unique terroir of each vineyard. Due to their exceptional quality, they are highly sought after by wine enthusiasts.

Pierre-Olivier Garcia's philosophy is rooted in deep respect for nature and craftsmanship. For him, sustainability is not an option but a commitment. He farms his vineyards organically and deliberately avoids artificial interventions in the cellar to authentically express the character of the terroir. To him, wine is an art form, a story told through the hands of the winemaker. With every bottle, he invites people to become part of this story—a dialogue between humanity, nature, and time. His vision is clear: to create wines that not only provide pleasure but also inspire—wines that leave a lasting impression.
