Region: Barbera d’Alba, Piedmont, Italy

Viticulture: Organically farmed west-facing Santa Lucia vineyard in La Morra, replanted in 2010 at 8,000 vines per hectare. No chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides. Low yields of around 1 kg per vine. Hand harvested. 

Winemaking: Fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel for 15–30 days, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation in steel. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, around 12% new. Bottled unfiltered.

Fondé par Cesare Bussolo, originaire de La Morra, le domaine excelle dans les vins traditionnels du Piémont, en mettant l'accent sur la finesse. Sous la tutelle de Roberto Voerzio depuis 2007, l'approche respectueuse de l'environnement et à faible rendement de Bussolo le positionne comme une étoile montante du Barolo, façonnant des vins d'équilibre et d'élégance.
